Repertoire

The modern brass band is known for displaying a wide range of musical styles unrivalled by any other form of live music, and the YEP is no exception. Its repertoire ranges from original brass band works, the classics, film and TV , big band style and "standards" from the pop scene and current musicals. Music can be tailor made to suit any indoor or outdoor event, either informal or full concert. The band encourages suggestions from prospective clients in its programme planning.

Players

The band size is normally of about thirty players however it has developed a ten to fifteen piece ensemble for the smaller venues.

Fees

Despite the high standard of the band, it has not lost sight of the need for promoters to make a fair return, and therefore keeps its fees at a reasonable level. These are significantly lower than championship bands and represent excellent value for money. The band operates a sliding scale of fees, the size and nature of the event being of prime importance in determining the fee, thus ensuring even test promoter a fair return.

Free publicity

A major benefit of engaging the YEP band is the free advertising for each event in the Yorkshire Post Group Newspapers. All the bands forthcoming activities are listed in the "Band Diary" which occurs on a regular basis (space permitting) in the relevant newspapers. The diary includes title, venue, date, time, ticket prices and selling points. Space is also allowed for brief details of the reasons for the event eg. a celebration, special fund raising etc.

Feedback from the concert going public reveals that the bands activities are closely followed through the diary which therefore benefits anyone wishing to engage the bands services.
